Shelter of magnolias.

Let it be nameless rather than ridiculous.
I fail pathetically in giving titles.

What a creature she is,
Picks up a pen and a kiss,
Sits among the boys,
Laughs with such gusto,
Sings here, there, far and near,
Even when ears refuse to hear,
Forgets to be proper,
Only to be agreeable and dear,
Careless in her ways,
Fearless and haughty but never strays.

Oh, such eyes will wander,
And sharp looks will linger,
She never cares for murmured words,
Speak up if you would,
She takes insults with pride,
Oh no, she never hides,
Too naïve perhaps,
But being young is never a crime, she said.

Please don’t fret dear sir,
For the creature is as sweet,
As she is ‘quick’,
Lacks in grace and modesty,
But brimming with joy and loyalty,
As soft and pretty,
If you would care to actually see.

After a healthy dose of Little Women and The Hush Sound, I felt more like the old me again. God knows I need it.

ikan.
